Default Any Superchargers W/boost controllers?

I have a 02Z06 TT and it was worthless in 1-3 gears on the street until I stepped it down. I seems to me now that with a supercharger it would be easy to do the same thing simply using a boost controller before the MAFS. Is this common or does the cam and headers associated with a supercharger install through the tune off to much? Or something else? Just curious with the new production supercharged cars coming out.

wouldnt work. boost is rpm based for blowers so the only way to make less boost is less gas. it would be difficult to bleed off the boost. might try to not rev it as high (so less boost)

As 02NBM said boost is based on RPM and the size pulley that you are using. You could reduce boost by changing the pulley but you would decrease both your low and high end boost. Im not sure if you could put in a valve to reduce the boost at low rpms or not but I havent heard anything?

I was thinking about messing with the by-pass valve to possibly bleed off boost at a point. I can't see why it wouldn't work, I think the spring can be adjusted. Adjust the spring to be tight enough to hold say 20psi but after that point the by-pass will start to release pressure.
This is just something I have thought about, not tried. If anyone has any thoughts on this, please share.

LPE has a kit for the Maggie to keep the bypass open so you will not go into full boost. I wired one into my Maggie (fbody, kit was made for a C5 though) that I sold. It held at 3#'s when it was on, hit at about 8-10#'s when off. It uses a MSD window RPM switch to open a GM elctrically controlled vacum switch. I was going to convert it to be on or off. It is called a Valet switch on LPE's sight. Making that work for the centri I dunno, but I believe the guy with the KB on his C5 was trying out as well.

I've done this on my car..

I run an Greedy Profec B boost controller for waste gate control and a waste gate on my intake charge pipe with my supercharger with 2bar SD tune ..Waste gate is sprung for 6.5psi(on a turbo setup) but opens at 13psi on a supercharged setup. Pulled to 20psi(or so) for high boost, low boost bleeds air and keeps me at 14psi. Push of a button and I can switch from 14psi to 20psi...Makes 630rwhp on low boost and 720rwhp on high boost(17psi) at 5700rpm. Haven't ran it up to 6700rpm yet for the final dyno tune(new motor)...

To me it sounds like a great excuse to put the biggest blower in there you can fit. The boost will come on much quicker from the larger head unit but you don't have to worry about over boosting. Pretty bad ***. Down the road I might have to try something like this with my F2. I can put on a bigger crank pulley, almost get instant boost and not have to worry about making 40psi on the top end.

Wow great info guys I figured there would be some way to attempt to do this but hadnt heard anyone on the forum using one. Question is, how does it work with the tuning/fuel system? If its set up for say 20psi but when you open the bypass valve to bleed off boost does it overcompensate fuel wise or with the boost controller can it remap fueling so that it would be appropriate for the boost level?

If you go with a 2 or 3 bar tune, the computer fuels on boost signal..So it only fuels for the boost it sees, weather 14psi or 20psi...as long as the tune is good..
