I may sell my tc78 if this new turbo was ready in the next two weeks.
PM me a price before you list it if you do. I'm getting a TC76 or 78 I believe.

Should work well with the 5.3L in my 240sx

Which turbo for a 5.3L, 243 heads, and a 216/221 .580 Lunati stealth cam in a 2700lb 240sx with a TH350??

TC72, TC76, or TC78???

What am I looking at for spool difference between the 3 turbos?

Thanks
Doubt you would notice any huge difference between the 3 units. Spool would be very close on all 3.

I just tested a bb TC76/.96 vs a bb T78/1.15 on my 6.0L truck and both turbo's ran the same exact mph. The T78 makes a little more power in the 10-12 range and maxes at 14psi where the Tc76 maxes at 15-16psi. Max an both of them was within half a mph. The GT76 put a full 5mph on both of them at same 15psi. The 68mm exh wheel is the cork IMO.

Jose you should send me a one of those new Tnetics with the larger exh wheel to test. My truck is dead consistent and I have lots of runs logged with the Tc, and T series units.

Yes it was, using the PT .96 a/r t4 turbine housing. I was there when he made all these runs, so I can back them

We are patiently waiting on the test units. They are suppose to be on the way. So we will post as soon as possible.

I dont think there is any yet. Man, just save up for a pt gts76, the extra money is worth not having to wait on this.

Sorry to bring this one back, but I am starting to figure out parts for a turbo build on my thirdgen and have a question. Is the "TC76" the same as what Turbonetics calls the "Hurricane 76" on their site? From what you're all describing it sounds like it is, but I just want to be sure. That being the case I am trying to decide between a single 76 or single 78 Hurricane turbo. How much bigger is the 78 than the 76? Packaging is key on my setup because I want to keep A/C so I'd like the smallest turbo that will meet my needs, but I wouldn't mind having a little room to grow. I'm hoping for 500-600 RWHP...

Thanks in advance for the help!!
