Well we finally figured out what was causing the thing to go to the limiter during shift. High gear was (getting) weak. And that last pass that day it broke a rod and tore up some stuff. I put together an LS2 based motor factory bore/stroke with diamond pistons and callies rods and put it back together. We were 3215lbs with ballast and it went 5.6s but the cam sensor was hooked up backwards. Fixed that and then went to test a couple weeks ago and high gear went out completely. We made some decent passes that day. Went 5.6s. Shut down about 800-900ft and coasted to a couple 9.1s@115-117

Gary, I always wanted to know the same thing. That's what the guys at calvert racing recommended for my firebird, and what I currently have installed with the 9" and their "Caltracs", have yet to run it though, just wondering what the idea is behind it. I know you can order them in different spring rates too, just kind of crazy to see them split like that.

Its so that the front half of the spring can be stiff to prevent axle wrap and the back half can help set the ride height. I believe thats right.
Its within .01-.02 60's consistently so I'd say I like em pretty well. Now if we'd quit tearing up other parts we'd be in good shape. Appears we hurt the turbo last time out now as well.
