Stock bottom end LQ4 goes 5.72@126 1/8th
Had to put another set of rods and pistons in the motor from a friends core motor (he's building a 408) after lifting the heads a little and getting some coolant in the chambers bending the rods that came in the '05 motor. We yama-bonded the heads and put about 6-8more ftlbs of torque on the L19 studs. The basic combo:
'05 LQ4 with '02 LQ4 rods/pistons (all we did was slap them in)
as cast L92 heads with stock L92 valves
PRC spring/retainer/pushrods from Texas Speed
GM L92 carb/efi intake
GT47-88 turbo by Precision
PT1800 a/w intercooler
PTC Converter/Glide
9" rear
calvert split leafs and caltracs
325/50 MT ET Street Radials
Its in a '00 Isuzu Hombre (S10 with different nose skin, actually in Brazil this is what the S10s all look like) and it was 3280-3290lbs last night depending on how much ice we had crammed into it.
Now the results...
As in the topic it went 5.72@126 at 3280lbs, with a 1.33 60'. Next pass had the bye round and went 1.29 60' but had to shift when the front end was coming down and unloaded the tires and slowed to a 5.79@124 Then in the finals something was hurt again. We were the only car to get down the track in qualifying and ended up being #1Q. All the other cars in the class were 632" big blocks with a few healthy doses of n2o. The record holder (at 5.18) went a best of the night 5.38 in the finals.

Its got a Crane camshaft in it. 236/240 600/600 112. If its not a record I want to know how the person with the record keeps from bending the rods. LOL. No detonation signs on the plugs.

Yeah the motor was originally an '05, but we stuck '02 pistons and rods in it. The '02s definitely appeared weaker. But the pistons looked identical (both floaters). I think the first set bent because the heads were lifting, because we'd get a few oz's of h2o out of the catch can after the passes. This time we got a few trickles each pass. But we yama-bonded the heads and the torque wrench was about 6-8ft lbs low. Before this weekend our best mph was 122 and it ran 119s early in the year in good air. I'm as tickled with the 1.29 60' on the radials as anything else. Shame that run didn't pan out as well. If we could get all of our best incrementals down, I think the truck would go 50s.

TT5? Even at 2600 I can't see being competitive with a stock motor. We're not competitive in Radial stuff. We're fine for the first 60'-100' but after that we can't make enough power to keep up. Good luck thought sounds like a fun thing to try
