Default Fuel System for 427

Hey guys I need a little help here. I am almost done with my motor and I was wondering where to start with a fuel system. So far it will be 30# injectors which I am told act like 36# in our car. Is that enough? As far as the fuel rails go they are stock, so is the pump. What would be a good system for the car? It is a 99 so I know the tanks are different. I MAY spray down the road a year or so, should I just upgrade then. Thanks for the help. I have all winter to break in the motor so I wont be racing at the track or to a shop to have a system installed. I want to take my time and get this right. Some suggestions or advice on what works and whatnot would be cool. Thanks.

I would run 36lb injectors at a minimum. That's what I have in my stroker. I started off with a walbro intank and inline and my pressure held good even at WOT. I have since swapped them out for the speed inc fuel system and high flow rails. I would definately want to do at least an intank pump.

I have the SVO 30# in my 427 Z06. We made 520RWHP and they worked well. I used them because I had them, but if I was buying new, I would probably go 37 or 42's.

If you decide to upgrade your rails, I can sell you a pair of our billet rails for $139.00.

NA cars seem to be fine up into the mid 500's, Blower cars seem to like more fuel, so we usually install them when approaching 500.

Im looking at anywhere between 480 and 500 rwhp. I am setting the car up NA for now. If and when I do a NX kit, it will be wet in the future. If I get rails and a pump(what pump to use?) and SVO 30# is that all I Need for now? What about the fuel lines. I dont WANT to touch these if I dont have to. Thanks.

larger injectors arent much more than what you are going to spend on a set of 30's esp if you get them used .. go larger it will give you more room to grow just my 2 cents

I had 39 lb injectors with my 422ci iron block, and made 475rwhp/505rwtq on Speed Inc's dyno. That's 39 lbs @ LS1 fuel pressure. SVO 30's at LS1 fuel pressure are like 36-37's.

I'd maybe get 42's, they idle well and you can find deals.

Agreed, if you are buying new, Id go with 37 or 42's. If you have 30's, they will support it.

I have had the same dilemma decided that it wasnt worth the hassle to go borderline for the sake off a $100 so got the 42lb.
