Default How to store my Race gas questions

Ok just filled 2 5 Gals VP jugs with C16 leaded race gas. motor blew 2 hours after i bought fuel. cars going to be down for little while. What should i do with my jugs of fuel

I have my 55gal steel drums with C12 race gas but i dont want to pour it in. how long will the C16 in jugs be good for ?

I would put some Sta-bil in it, they claim up to 12 months or more.

No need for stabil in race fuel.. infact I would be concerned about the octane effect of adding it.

Race fuel if kept in a cool dark place will last for a very long time. I have used some from the previous season without problem. It tends to remain stable unlike pump fuel.

The key is keep it from light, air, and temp swings. I'm a former chemist for Sunoco and did some stability studies and temperature and light will start to break it down pretty quickly.

Don't leave it on the ground either, it can gather moisture. Put them up on 2x4's or something so air can circulate underneath.
