Well now I'm confused, so any regulator I get (like the MAA-4305M) with single -8an inlet and triple outlet will be hooked up, sump --> filter --> fuel pumps --> Y (to get to one line) --> Rail --> -8an Crossover --> Regulator on other rail --> Return

Nothing coming out of "outlet" ports, those are plugged, right?

internal or external, doesnt really matter, two walbros and a 044 would be plenty as would two 044s and one walbro i suspect, tho ive never really tested out any combos on e85 personally. as long as you prime test the pump manually prior to racing and make sure it will function when requested it will be fine.

well obviously you need a fuel injection rated regulator, and you would use one inlet (from the rail) and one outlet (to the tank) and block off the rest.

yea its been a while, i believe thats the external version.

Of course mouse, the mallory unit has -8an inlet, three outlets and a return. I wouldn't use the inlet off the rail and return to the tank, blocking off all 3 outlets? $100 is pretty cheap for a boost referenced unit, not sure if I trust it...

When you are using dual (or more) pumps pushing to same line, do you use one-way valves on the pumps that will be used only on "kill-mode"?

Also having thoughts of using dual 044s, is it correct to use -8 from tank to each pump, then -6 from each pump to y-block and -8 mainline to rails? Would this support 1200fwhp on gas?

044 does not have a built in check valve. Although the little add-on piece it comes with does incorporate one. But it is not part of the pump.

I run my 044's all the tme. Never had any problems.

2 pumps, into a single 1/2" line to the front of the car

This enters a fuel dist block. Then I feed each rail with a single -6 line ( well, 2 of them )

These 2 rails then exit, combining into a single -6 line to the magnafuel regulator.

Then a -6 returning to my tank.

I picked up two of the walbros, those suckers are small, they're 10mm to -6an (now) which will suffice for the 4.8 @ 15psi , still not 100% sure on the 408. Got my regulator also (the magnafuel 9950-B), so run it.

Will the Bosch 044 pump support more HP than the Walbro 255 pump? Any downside to the Bosch?

When running two pumps in parallel do you need to incorporate a check valve on the pump that's boost activated?

I intend on following a similar route with my TT C5 Z06.
Thinking on running a walbro 255 hp and bosch 044 both in tank.

The 044 pump flows around 300 LPH at 72psi (numbers that I recall)

walbro inline GSL392 flows more then intank 255 pump at higher pressure

The flow is not a constant, as pressure goes up flow goes down.

The 044 doesnt flow a big pile more. But the Walbro flow drops off a lot as pressure rises. Above 70psi, the Walbro struggles.

The 044 will maintain flow rates til over 100psi without any bother.

The 044 does cost a lot more though.

Thanks for the info!

Also, as far as amp draw goes, do these pumps always run flat out, drawing the max amperage? I think the Bosch 044 is rated at 15.5 amps. Does this mean that it's always drawing 15.5 amps, whether you're idling at a stoplight or under WOT?

That adds up... two 044's drawing 15.5 amps a piece is 31 amps. That's a lot of draw on your alternator!!

Thre more pressure you put the pump under, the more current it will draw. No different to any pump.

I run both of my pumps at about 55psi base pressure +20psi boost. So a max of around 75psi.

These are both fed via a single 30A fuse, which has never blown in some 2-3 years of use. Although Ive never measured actual current usage.

Headlights, heated screens, heated seats, big stereos etc etc all place quite a load on the alternator too. I wouldnt worry about it.

Clean setup John. I picked up two of the bosch units, damn they're small. I'm only going to run 60psi pressure so they should still flow okay, the second unit being activated with hobbs switch (unless that really is unnecessary) with a manual override.
