Default Thanks Lonnie/ Racetronix

I had some free time tonight so I swapped in the Racetronix single intank pump. I have to say the directions are outstanding.

Hey Lonnie, I had two questions...

1) Do I have the float on the wrong side, I think I do.

2) How much gap is there typically from the bottom bucket to the lid... ie. the space that the spring loaded bars are... pics are attached:

Thanks!!!!!!!

The float appears to be installed correctly. You should have a retainer clip in there... white plastic about 1" x 3/8".
It holds the sensor in place.

Your bucket looks bent as the top is not level.... was it in an accident? They will bend in a collision, & I'm not sure where your sender came from.

It is usually compressed about 1-1.5" when installed... never measured one to get an exact number though.

It's a little crooked, I think because the fuel line from the actual pump to the top white part seems a little long to me. Okay to shorten it?

You will ruin it if you shorten it. It has to be long so it makes a nice "S" bend when installed.

I see. Sounds like I am being too gentle with it then.

I noticed that the base of the fuel pump assembly has small rubber feet, leads me to think that the feed are supposed to make contact with the inside of the tank? I went ahead and installed the pump for now, though it's hard to compress it to only an inch of gap.
