I'm trying to figure out what the best carb for a 6.0L would be running the edelbrock performer RPM intake?? They recommend their 800CFM for a 5.7L.
I want a holley carb though and they dont make an 800CFM in their street avenger line.
Should i go 850cfm street avenger? or a smaller double pumper?
Thanks,
Jeff

The Edelbrock is an air valve secondary carb, so it is larger than needed, but due to this design will not over carburate the motor.
Going too big with a double pump Holley will cause you grief.
It can bog at low rpm if too large.
A vac secondary Holley is more forgiving & is OK at 750cfm.
Double pumpers are more appropriate at a 650-700.
Unless you are running a lot of gear and/or big converter, conservative is better.
cfm = cubic inch * max rpm/3456. This is the formula for 100% VE which street engines normally do not achieve.

366*6000(rpm)/3456 = 635
if redline were 6500 then = 688
I'm new to carbs so could i run a 750 holley? or is that over kill and cause it to stumble down low?
im thinking this carb: http://www.holley.com/0-3310C.asp
