Anyone ever used a Bosch 413 fuel pump (rated to 900hp)?
Hey guys,
I'm currently running a bit over 500rwhp (on Aussie dyno so would be 550-580rwhp over there) with a 3.5ltr surge tank, single Bosch 044 pump, regulator and 60lb injectors and was looking into different options for the future to allow a bit extra for more boost or E85 etc.
I was thinking of going down the path of twin Bosch 044 pumps like most people do but was also pointed along the lines of running a single Bosch 413 fuel pump as they are apparently rated to 900hp. One thing I don't like about twin pumps is that if one fails without you knowing you could lean out and grenade an engine but with a single if it fails fuel flow just stops.
Now they are both rated to 200lph but the 044 is at 5bar (72psi) and the 413 is at 8bar (116psi) so with lower fuel pressures (LS1's around 58psi) then the 413 should be able to support more power than the 044 can. The other good part is that I can use my current system and just swap out the two pumps without changing anything else.
Below are a few links to the 2 pumps, it looks pricey as it's in AUD but you could get it a few hundred cheaper from over in the US etc:

Look into the jayracing pro-series 044, much cheaper:

I've been looking into these pumps myself, as I'm torn between a dual pump setup or an 044/413 as my goal at this point will be somewhere in the 600rwhp range. I have been talking with a Bosch rep and basically what I got from the conversations is you have a certified pump that can go to 8 bar and maintain 200ltr. BUT, the 044 can actually go to 8 bar as well, it is just not certified. I was very impressed with him as he wasn't trying to sell me on anything and didn't want me to buy something that wasn't necessary. Also he told me they rate the pumps to 700 flywheel HP, but take that for what it's worth.
