Well, i read that 30-40% more fuel is consumed as compared to gas, and air fuel ratios are somewhat different, how hard is it to run E85. im assuming to make big numbers i need high flow injectors and a very high volume pump. i already have the 120lb injectors and a 1:1 referenced FPR, one thing that is on my mind is fuel line size due to such high volume. what would the recommended supply and return lines need to be and will an A1000 pump be able to meet the demands needed for this kind of volume and pressure. if i were to go to an aeromotive belt drive would an electric pump be needed to supply fuel to the belt driven pump if using a fuel cell? i have so many questions but i cant seem to remember them when i want to ask.... on another note is there anything that needs to be done differently in HP tuners when tuning for E85?

Thanks for your thoughts and opinions, Jesse

We will need to know the power goals and it sounds like your tuning yourself.

yes, i will be tuning myself. and you know i really havent thought about power goals. i have about 4000.00 left to spend on parts. only thing i need now is a set of rods, cam, springs, rockers and pushrods for the engine, and a fuel system. i already have the aeromotive 13101 FPR and was planning on a -10AN supply and a -8AN return using a belt driven pump for simplicity. i dont like throwing numbers out but lets say 1000 ponies to the tires

for 1000rwhp you need a pump capable of 149 gal/hr(976lb/hr) at your pressure running at 80% capacity. 119lb/hr injectors at 85% duty cycle. The -8 should be fine for the volume, but -10 would be preferred if running for more than 6 feet.

Run at around 8:1 A/F ratio(.75 lambda) which will put on on the rich safe side.
If you can run the injectors above the blower, it will help more with cooling reducing the need for a intercooler.

MSU, im using a 78mm turbo i picked up from rob at modular not a supercharger. is there anything special that needs to be done in HP tuners pro to set it up for using E85, i think i remeber reading something about commanded AFR wouldnt that be different as compared to using plain gas?

run the stoich or commanded A/F ratio at 10.06 and you will be good to go if your call was all set up on gas.

Anyting over 750 whp -10an is a must, so if you haven't bought 8 yet the cost would just be a few dollars more to upgrade now. I would also do a 10an return. Your going to need a big volume pump and without some sort of voltage controller going to your pump your going to have a very big fuel return load at low rpm's.

Now I'm somewhat still new to e85 but just so you know my 4303 magnafuel pump is rated to 2000hp and magnafuel said it would do a safe 800-900 on e85. So just remember go big on everything if you have big e85 horsepower goals.

Looks like you guys have it covered.

-10 on the vent too. Consider a cooler on the return line too if it gets street driven a lot. Use a plate style trans cooler with 1/2" inlet/outlet or bigger.

Get a bigger regulator too. The -6 return is tiny on the 13101.

what regulator would you recommend then?

i'll have a 13101 up for sale when i get the required post count. ill put it on ebay when the time comes so there will be no issues and the buyer will have the protections.

but that only has -8an inlet and outlets though. here is a question could i use the 13101 and drill and tap the outlet to the NPT equivalent of a -10AN?

You will want to tee the feed line into two -8's into the rails then return the rails to the regualator with -8 on each side. If you use Magnafuels fittings they have a -8 to -10 fitting for the return port that does not restrict flow.

Fore makes nice regulators too.

^ what he said. -8an o_ring to a - 10 an ,its not restrictive like you think. The biggest magnafuel efi pump (4303) has 8an's on both sides but u adapt them straght to 10's also

Just buy the whole magna fuel kit and be done with it! Whenever you consider all the hassle your gonna go threw picking this and that up its realy a good price kit

i really dont mind the hassle of piecing together my own fuel system and im really not fond of the putrid purple and blue that magna fuel uses...
