Default killing fuel pumps

I have a 97 lt1 camaro and have gone through 3 fuel pumps in less than 300 miles. Been through 2 walbro and now an aeromotive pump. The last time I lost one I replaced evrything injectors, regulator, pump and also hard wired the pump it lasted just barley 100 miles. Has anyone had any similiar problems I am at a loss on this one dont know what else to look for the only thing I can think is some kind of eletrical problem.

What have the pre-filter socks looked like when you removed the pumps?

Are you using the same gas stations for fill-ups?

What kind of fuel have you been using?

Hmm...

Any discoloration or deformation around the electrical connector or pump body?

Aeromotive is an active vendor on here, I'd shoot them a PM.

nothing physically wrong with the pump that I can see. I have heard of voltage problems with pumps going out but mine is hard wired so I dont know if that could be an issue or if it is still a possibility. I will shoot something to aeromotive see what they say thats a good idea.

Do you have a inline fuse for it and how long did you run the aeromotive fuel pump for at one time? Do you have a fuel pump controller for it also?

PSI is/was?
Volts at the pump is?
Tank vented properly? Insufficient venting will cause cavitation at the pump inlet. [A sure fire way to kill a pump!]

Have you done a volt drop test?

Default Any of the..

smog system been removed?
Charcoal canister, etc, blocked off?
Trace the vent line from the tank to the engine, and see what you find. If that's been blocked off, you have no tank vent.
Pump[s] make any unusual noise when they go away?? [High noise level could be cavitation. Air bubbles imploding.]

To solve the cavitation theory, just drive around with your gas cap loose for a while.

Do they all fail pretty close to the same time?

How exactly is the pumps wired?

if you have a bad ground eating up voltage that will kill pumps. Pumps should always be grounded back straight to the battery and eliminate grounding through the body.

yes the smog pump and canister have all been elimnated since I did my rebuild and that is when I started having problems with the pumps and they are quite noisey also. So what would be the solution to fix the ventalation problem? when I release the gas cap when I get gas there doesnt seem to be any pressure releasing like thier is on my daily driver cavalier.

all the pumps are failing about the same time around a tank of gas after they have been replaced. the pump is grounded directly to the battery
