Default Replacing MAP Sensor?

Is it possible to change the MAP sensor without pulling the intake manifold, seeing as how it is on the very back of the intake manifold?

I am very green to the LS1 and am curious how big of a pain in the butt this is going to be to swap?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

PS: I tried a search but after looking through about 4 pages of threads, I gave up...

I'm sure someone has but IMO it would be a hell of a lot less hassle to remove the intake then it would be to reach back there and attempt to pull it perfectly straight up to prevent it from breaking

Thanks for the response.

I am thinking this may be a good time to upgrade the intake manifold if it is easier to remove it to change the sensor.

Now, to figure out which one. I have heard about people swapping LS6 intakes...

it can be done but you really have to know what your feeling around for . If your new just take the intake off it will be less headache .

They're extremely easy to remove. Pull the clip out of the way and pull it straight up. No real magic involved. A flathead screwdriver with a wide head helps too.

I am definitely a NOOB. Upgrading the intake sounds like a good idea.

Your car should have an LS6 intake on it I believe in 2000? If all you have is a lid and air filter as in your sig, what you have for an intake is fine. You shouldn't need to upgrade it. Why do you need to change the map senor? Is it just a maintenance issue, or are you boosting it?

If you are considering an Ls6 intake anyway just pull off the intake and swap it now it's not bad. You can do it fairly quickly but you will need to delete egr.
