Default Evap delete

Anybody have any recent pictures on step by step how to delete the evap system ? I’ve been researching and have found the write up but no pictures with it because the information is so old. I’m more of a visual learner. Will be for 2002 fbody drag race car that will be going with a dual fuel pump setup that doesn’t retain evap port

Basically, disconnect everything involving evap. Plug off any lines or outlets that may lead to fresh air getting in intake. Then disconnect the evap line going to the tank and vent those to the atmosphere. Preferrably above the tank level. Best spot is run it along side the filler hose
Then Tune out the codes if still on stock PCM.

On a drag only car, cap the evap off the intake manifold, then remove everything that was attached to it. If this is too difficult, change hobbies.

Im curious about the same thing. I just installed new fuel rails and since i was that far tore down, also knock sensors. But i removed the evap and plugged the lines, started up and ran just fine, then when i turned it off, heard a psssshhhh sound and notice fuel came out of back of rail on driver side (possibly blew oring). Did it do that due to not have the return and evap hooked up and too much pressure?

EVAP's has nothing to do with fuel leak. Need to address the leak at the fuel rail.

Ya it was just the very back injector not seating all the way do to the fuel rail brackets.

Glad you found it. Fuel leaks have a way of finding hot exhaust and toasting your ride. Not a likely outcome, but a possibility you don't want.

If you are going to start plugging lines, unplugging solenoids, and jacking with the tune, OK, but you will need to switch to a vented fuel cap. The stock fuel tank vent is driven by a solenoid ran by the ECM. It normally vents through the charcoal canister, which captures and holds the hydrocarbon vapors. Those are then burned when the car starts, to empty the charcoal canister (purge).

Could You just put a breather on the end line of the firewall evap line and remove the stuff off the engine and rubber cap the intake? Will fumes build up causing and engine bay explosion or fire.

Far too easy to just use a vented fuel tank cap or vent the tank another way as opposed to taking even the tiniest risk of puking vapor or liquid fuel into the engine compartment.

On my 99 build I have an aftermarket tank from Nasty Performance which has a 12AN for fuel feed with two 8AN bungs, one for the return and the other for a breather line. Since there was no roll-over valve installed in the tank I installed one onto the tank and will be directing the vent line down lower than the tank so that in the event of a rollover the fuel will not leave the tank.

But that would mean having to live with the knowledge that you rolled your car. Wouldn't you rather just die in a fire, lol?
