Default Fuel Pump Won't Budge Help!

Anyone have any tips for me? I see videos and write ups of people just tapping on the fins in a counter clockwise motion and the pump coming out. I'm starting to tear up the lips from tapping on them for so long. Any help is appreciated.

How about posting a coherent message with some details.

Apologies if I wasn’t clear. The pump won’t move when I try to get it out. I can’t get it to rotate so I can free it from the tank. I have looked at write ups and watched videos of people tapping it and getting it to rotate counter clockwise but mine won’t move. It’s secured by grooves within a metal ring with fins on the ends. I have been trying to free it for 2 days and the fins are becoming damaged at this point. I have tried dabbing lube on the grooves as well as different objects to tap it out (socket extensions, screwdrivers.) I was asking if anyone else has experienced this issue and could offer tips on getting it out. I figure there’s got to be something I’m missing here. Got any tips old buzzard?

Are you talking about the locking ring that secures the pump to the tank?

If you are then here's some advice.

The fuel pump locking ring.

Get you a good flathead screwdriver, a claw hammer, preferably a small sledge hammer or even a dead-blow hammer would work.

Try working at some of these locations to get the locking ring to start moving to the raised portion on the locking ring. It will take some effort to get it to clear the tabs but once you've done that and removed the ring the pump can then be lifted off the seal and removed from the tank.

Thank you. I am talking about the ring. I believe I saw this same excerpt somewhere and have been working at the aforementioned ring with various tools but it won't move even a little. I guess I'll just keep at it. If I have to buy a new pump, then so be it. This is the last task of a complete, 3 year build and I want to start this damn thing!

Ok, I got it. Putting a small towel between the lip and the screwdriver and smacking the crap out of it did the trick.
