Car BOGGS BAD off dead idle?
This problem started happening about 1 month ago. After startup, and about 4-5 miles of driving, While at a red light and idling, as soon as I hit the gas (Just normally, not floored or anything) The car falls on its face, like its dumping fuel, or its either too lean. How do I determine if the car is running to RICH, OR TO LEAN? I dont have access to ATAP, or anything like that anymore, so is there a way without scan tools? I thought that maybe it was my plugs fouled out, so I changed them, but the problem is still there. The plugs I pulled out were pinkish/orange in color if that matters.

Hey I'm having a similar problem with my car as well. I replaced the plugs and wires twice this week and the car still runs like crap. It bogs and backfires and is very sluggish on the take-off now. I had the car scanned and no fault codes came up and I don't have a check engine light. I'm thinking maybe I have a bad coil pack or maybe the MAF is going bad, hell I don't know. Any experts please reply I can't beat a ford escort right now.....

You definitely need some sort of scan tool to check it, otherwise you're shooting in the dark. Throwing parts at until the problem goes away is just wasting money. I know this is not the answer you are looking for but when dealing with a complex OBD II PCM it could be several things.
With that said, It sounds like you are running rich if the plugs are orangish in color. Did you do any modifications and then notice the change; or maybe even switch gas?

I would guess you fouled a plug, or you just cleaned your K&N Filter & coated your MAF sensors in oil. (my car is doing the sme thing after I re-installed my old Denso plugs AND cleaned my K&N, so that is my list of troubleshooting to do today) Since you changed the plugs already, that narrows it down. But there are probably about 100 things that CAN cause these symptoms.....
