Default Replace in tank pump with outer electric?

I tried to search this, sorry. I have 5 birds all with bad fuel pumps. I have 2 more that I cut the back pans to lift the pumps without taking off tanks. Can I just hook an electric in the fuel line somewhere and let the in tanks pumps stay dead?

The dead fuel pump would impose a huge restriction on the suction of the external pump and limit its capacity bigtime.
I dont think this is a good idea.

External in line pumps are a gravity feed. And the dead pump inside the tank would only make things worse

No I'm running Wildwood 4 piston up front and stock 02 rear brakes. I bought an entire kit to convert it all.

Short answer on your direct question no an external FP isnt an option. Beyond that u do still have options. Whether you opt to cut a nice access hatch or swing the rear end down and drop tanks. Both methods will get the jobs done, they have their challenges and risks but 100% do-able. I always opt to verify the pumps are dead with a power probe, very easy to do and will save u major time in the event that something else is actually keeping your pump from coming on. If the pumps are all dead it is 100% worth the time and energy to replace them and get the cars going. Since you have so many you can opt to buy the pump by itself and basically splice it into your strainer assemblys, for example a pump by itself you can find for 30$ a cheap pump and strainer assembly you can find for 75 and an AutoZone pump and strainer assembly is over 200 but has lifetime warranty, I spliced a pump into my f150 becuz it was so easy and there was nothing wrong with my strainer/ float so I was back on the road for 25$ vs 200! Also one last bit if something else was keeping you FP from coming on and you don't feel like dicking with it. If you don't mind having a toggle switch it's no big deal to wire your fuel pump to a toggle switch. I've tucked mine in the little ash tray and gives you full control of it, put an inline fuse on it for safety!
