Default Aluminum vs braided line

-8AN braided or 1/2 aluminum
Which would be better. Aluminum is ALOT cheaper and not that bad to work with.

Nothing wrong with a hard line if you can bend it to fit. Factory look.

i prefer hardline wherever possible.

it doesnt rub, less chance of puncture, and it has that stock look to it.

hard line will flow more than braided. Braided is must easier to work with though.

I was looking at the 1/2" aluminum line at jegs. Its less than half the price and should not be too hard to work with. Steel on the other hand would be a pain.

but you need to buy a few more parts to make the connections with the hard lines. I like the "push lock" hose. its easier to work with then hard line or braided steel. I believe it is alot tougher then the aluminum. Alot of circle track cars run this so its got to be tough.

Braided is better IMO as it can take more hits and keep on going! Like the BFM test. hit the aluminum line with a hammer and the braided. What one do you think will still work best. Next remeber heat and fuel is bad news. and where are you going to mount these larger lines (by the exhaust) its aluminum will soak heat a hair more when you run 2-3feet of it inches from the exhaust. where as the braided can be ran (LT1) style. and when mounted right will not move.

I only PRO on aluminum I have seen at shops is when you get bad fuel. As sunoco had a new additive that was eating away at the rubber in all cars. and a few local guys needed all new braided lines tank to rails! where the stock or aluminum guys only needed new injector seals.

You can see it in Jegs or summit. Its basicly a kevlar reinforced rubber hose. For connections you "push" it over the connectors that are simmular to a hose barb fitting. Its good up to 300 psi.

Hard lining fuel lines is good, so is braided lines. They both have thier advantages and disadvantages as you already know. Hard lines you can tuck up out of the way and keep clear of getting hit. Although, braided lines have thier place, I just don't like to use them. I use XRP hose instead, it has a larger inside diameter and doesn't hold the heat like steel braided does.
Even if you get the (and I say it softly)cheap stuff from XRP it's still better than steel braided. Steel braided always burns you, and forget about that one piece sticking out that bites your hand. XRP you can actually touch the hose after a run and not burn yourself. So to me that makes your fuel even cooler.

Just my .02¢ Hope this helps.
