Not sure if that works. I know freescan has a reset pcm option. I would think there is a way to do it without a scan tool though. See if that works if not you have something else going on with the car.

if you're OBD1 that'll reset your pcm, but Wont rev past 2,500 that deffinitely has nothing to do with octane, Id make sure your fuel system is working up to par, and you TPS, and MAP are working right, if you're map is messed up car will run like total *** if it even runs at all.

thing is it idles so smooth and well... but then i floor it and then it knocks back hard back to 2500rpms and backfires and stuff...i didnt receive any codes for the MAP nor the TPS... just opti spark and i replaced it and it didnt help.. i was told the MAP and TPS are very sensitive and throw codes easily... so i wonder why mine arent throwing anything at all if that is the problem... u think its the coil??? or does that also throw a code when its going bad???

I filled up with 93 Octane and she's back to her old self :-), I kept off it though, the car just seems to run much stronger with a higher octane gas and I get way better gas mileage.
