Help Me with 42lb Injector Purchase - PLEASE
*Going to AFR 205's, 224ish Cam, Maybe 100 Shot Later - 2002 C5
Okay, I think it sounds like going bigger than needed on injectors is alright, so I'm looking at exactly what injectors to get now:
1) Are there any real differences between various brands of injectors?
2) If so, which brand do you recommend and why? (the ones I know of are SVO green top, FMS, and Racetronix, any others?)
3) Where have you found the best prices?

im not sure about that hopefully racetronix can comment on it though. but the racetronix are a good injector, they just tend to hit the cut out limit in the mid to high 1.xx ms of pulse width where the svos can go much lower than that, about 0.9 ms or so. if you have a cam that idles at a higher map then you will have no issue with racetronix higher flow injectors, but if you have a small cam or are closer to stock svo would be a better bet IMO, but then again we dont keep em stock for long

On the flow bench the Delphi disc injectors have no trouble down to 1.5ms. We would like to see a hi-z pintle injector that is faster than a disc injector and stable down below 1.0ms.
Most customers and none of our dealers have had your troubles. Many customers have used these injectors with stock cams running dry N2O and are able to target factory idle A/F with great stability. You have only tried the 38# injectors. Not 32's, 37's or 42's. One person's experience is not a basis for passing judgment on the entire product line. You are entitled to your opinion based on your personal experience but that is the extent of it.
Just to clarify we are talking about Delphi brand injectors which are used in many GM cars. They are not Racetronix brand injectors.
The Delphi 42 has a three prong fan spray pattern. The 42 is the most popular injector sold.

like i have said in all my other posts, sorry i didnt mention it but i used the 38# injectors and these do not go with the stock cam good at all, but are perfect for the larger cam. this is a tech site and im giving my personal info out for others to see. you are right others may work but i have read a lot that the 38# are some troubles in low map areas low pulse width

Most people have found it easy to tune the Delphi injectors.
If you are going to bash an entire line based on a single calibration size and the experience of a small handfull of people you had best be able to back it up with numbers. Since we have sold tens of thousands with only a small handfull of people having trouble we would have to say that the numbers are on our side.

racetronix, what are the differences in the injectors by makes? and what would cause problems on the 38# that wouldnt show on the rest? im just wondering what the differences are, maybe techincal information would help us out, if you could post stuff like that it would help a lot better than just saing he was wrong, if you tell him to get his facts strait then give some info to prove your facts. an no im not trying to argure, i really would like to know the difference myself, from a technical stand point.
