one does not really need locking gas caps anymore. The cars today are not like the older style where on can put a hose down your filler tube and suck gas out, unless you have *** that are putting crap in your gas tank.

I bought one from autozone for like 6.00, it didnt fit, the little triangle shaped lugs that engage in the two slots in the neck are just a tiny bit large. 2 minutes with a dremel fixed that.

I went to Autozone and asked for a locking gas cap for a 99 Camaro. I paid however much it was, maybe like $10, and it fits and works perfect. Very good investment.

I'm curious to hear why they can't. I siphoned the gas out of my tank before I swapped fuel pumps. 98 Camaro here.

The 98 Filler necks are differnt from other years. I tried moding a couple of gas caps.I modded a Stant gas cap but the plastic is weak. The best one to run on a 98 is ACDELCO part# 22660006. There are triangle tabs on them all you gota do is file down our use a dermal tool to cut the tabs slightly for it to fit. And it will work perfect.

Motorad MGC804 locking gas cap (Canadian Tire) also worked perfectly on my 98 after I followed your filing tips
