fuel injectors
I have had one of my injectors go bad, I was thinking of just replacing the whole set maybe upgrade. The car is a 99 so I believe it has the 24.5lb. Since my car has already been tuned should I just stay with a set of stock injectors or will it matter if I go ahead and get a bigger set? If so will I need to get it tuned again? Thanks

Not true...even an NA car will need upgraded injectors with a decent size cam and heads. But if you mean a stock or mostly stock engine, then you stick with the stock injectors unless you are planning to do some heavy mods in the future. I would guess that swapping to larger injectors without a tune would have you running rich since the pulse duration needs to be adjusted. The larger injectors flow more fuel within the same pulse duration as the stock units.

Well I am not heavily modded (mods are in the sig) I do not have any more plans in the future. I just dont want to get bigger ones if I have to send my pcm off again and have it re-tuned. But if I am maxing my injectors out right now then I would rather get some bigger ones and do the tuning if it is needed. If so what size would be good to go with.

If your not going to get big mods int he future IE turbo or supercharger then I would just stay with the stockers. you wont have to get a re-tune if you do that, and whn they did tune your car you should of be able to see the duty cycle of your injectors and see if there are even close to being maxed

Do you have any way of logging what your current pulse widths are? 99 fbodies have the smaller injectors, so you will be closer to maxing them out than other fbodies would be. Check out this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagnostics-tuning/306296-conversion-injector-pulse-width-duty-cycle.html and see where your injectors fall on the chart in post #3. If they are in any of the yellow, you will need to upgrade. Keep in mind that if you get any injectors other than the 26.4# that came stock, you will need a tune.

Pick up some SVO 30#ers, they flow as a 36#er on the LS1 rail, and will keep your DCs under control, and allow for a little extra room for growth. And yes, you can run on the stockers, but when we talk about running 100% on any injector, you're really taking a gamble on whether or not that injector wants to hold up against time. You did just lose one right? hmmmm
