I'm not worried about how you guys cut the hose, I'm worried about hose clamped stainless braided hose with a hacked off quick connect fitting. That's asking for an engine bay full of fuel, smoke, and fire If there's one thing I won't play games with, its fuel lines and fittings.

Yes, that is my question. If the fuel pressure regulator is in the tank (thats another question in itself) then what is the fuel pressure regulator looking thing in the crossover tube on the stock fuel rails?

Thanks,
Jeff

That's a pulse dampener. It tries to eliminate the fuel pressure pulses in the rails.

How detrimental is it?

You can take it out with no ill effects. All the aftermarket rails don't use one and they work just fine.

Braided hose does not clamp well. And it is clamped without a barb on the hard line. It *WILL* begin to leak after time. Don't flirt with disaster.

I used a compression fitting on the bottom end of the stock fuel line to an AN6 flex hose to the rail, worked great. I'll see if I can get a picture tonight when I get home.
