Default Inj duty Cycle %

I had gotten my car dynoed and tuned about a month ago and when i got hom I was checking the logs and my inj duty % was @ 112-115 at peak. I picked up a set of svo 30# injectors and installed them. I put in the values I got from redhardsupras website and I thought all was fine. I went out and made a couple of passes tonight and I see my duty % is still in 90`s. It is only 25 degees outside . Any ideas?

you're probably runnin rich...i.e. runnin low 12's @WOT will tax the injectors more, if you lean it out some the duty cycle will drop....of course without more info i cant tell you by how much

Hmmmmmmm...along the same lines, it was 50 degrees out here yesterday, and with my stock internaled, bolt-on car, my IDC maxed out at ~88% with the stock 28lb-ers. I'm wondering what kinda injectors I'll really need when it comes heads/cam time for me...SVO 30s don't seem to be the universal answer anymore.

svo 42s are the universal h/c answer as far as injectors go. perfect drivability, cheap, trivial to tune, lots of potential.

I ran 36# on my H/C full bolt-on car. Then when I put in the 383 the injectors were still ok. Never had a problem maxing them out.

how did you know they were ok? have you ever measured the pulse width? was your IFR table calculated properly or was it used for 'tuning'? did you verify that AFR was good even at high rpm? injectors can seem 'fine' if you don't mind running at 130% duty cycle or you just don't rev it much. one's dangerous, and the other is just slow.
remember that:
injector duty cycle=injector pulse width*rpm/1200
unless your injectors are calibrated properly and you monitor rpms alongside with pulse width, you will never know the truth. 'pro' tuners will not tell you how high you went on duty cycle, becuase they usually just use IFR to 'tune' your car.

Nawwwwwwwwwww...pro tuners wouldn't do that

I was definitely surprised when I saw how high mine was on my car, and I haven't even touched the engine

yea we logged them and they maintained the A/F throughout the RPM band. We didnt use the IFR table to tune my car, not how we wanted to do it.
