No Mine is quite as well...How much fuel was in the tank 1st time you put power to it. I read somewhere that Racetronics say to have at lease 1/4 tank prior to putting the power to it. And never test it dry-out of the tank.

Are you having any pressure problems?

I had 1/2 a tank of gas and I also filled up the resevor bucket befor I powered it up. I then turned the key on a couple of times before I started the car for the first time to help get the gas purged into the pump. I also did not start the car for a couple of days after installation of the pump so I though that I did everything right. My pump was quiet also at first but for the last couple hundred miles it's been louder. I have about 1000 miles on the pump also. fuel pressure seems to be fine at 62 PSI and 58 PSI at WOT.

I would say pushing close to 5k-6k.

Sounds like you took all the precautions. Did you clean the tank out real good? Did you drop the tank or do the trap door method?

I used the trap door methode, I shined alight into the tank and the tank was way clean, I also ran water over the top of the gas tank to get rid of all the cutting dust and dirt. The top of the tank was clean and dry before I started my work.

I hate to say it but, there might have been something in the tank that made its way to the pump. When I replaced mine I dropped the tank and did a full clean and flush job. Then wiped out the entire inside with a tack rag followed by a white cotton rag just to make sure.

Thanks for the reply 618HAWK. I Emailed racetronixs and they told me it is normal for the pump to have a quiet whine to it.(like I do but a little louder now) I'll just leave the pump in there and watch the fuel PSI like a hawk and see if it starts fluctuating. It seems strange that no one else replied about even having a quiet whine to their pumps.

I agree run it till it starts to give you problems, just keep a close eye on the pressure.
