Default Smelling gas after fuel pump install.....

I smelled gas after filling the tank and I notice a little gas seepping(SP?) over the heat sheild. I dropped the tank again and I can't tell wher the gas was coming from. I also got an evap code but I can't remember what the the exact number. I did notice the I had a kink mark in the small "S" shaped line coming from the canister to one of the metal lines. The kink mark was made when I was reintalling the tank and i had to bend it to get it out of the way. I don't think it blocked the flow of anything. I also checked the pump seal/ring and it looked good so I don't think it could be leaking from there. Anyone have any ideas?
