Can fouled plugs be cleaned up and reused

Default Can fouled plugs be cleaned up and reused

I once heard that if the plugs is fouled its done and cant be reused. Is that true???

Pretty much. There are cleaning tools out there that use sand to clean them, but I find they tend to leave sand down between the metal body and the porcelain. Its a bitch to get that out, and I dont like the idea of allowing possible sand particles to enter my motor.

If they are fouled with raw gas, throw them away. But if you mean just with some carbon, they can be reused.

At $1.78 per NGK TR-55, why bother?
