I met someone tonight that told me there is gas station that sells 100 octane. Can I run this on my ls1 or does it need to be diluted to 98 or 97? Can u run it in a lt1?

I run FI so I make a mix of 93 and motorsport 109 by VP.

You can run it, but if your car does not need it and is not tuned for it, you will not benefit from it in ANY way....except for some weight reduction on your wallet.

Are cars run great on just the 93 94 if you really want the extra Octane, but no real benefit.

no real need for higher octane. unless your high on compression or spraying its alil added insurance. and all fuels have different specific gravities just like the differences in octanes.. check the motor octane and rated octane when choosing a fuel for you application.. but again like others have also said unless you have a ls1 or lt1 with comp higher than 12:1 with timing in it.. no need for it on stock motors or even mild combos

so where do you say is the cutoff? Maybe I mis stated myself by saying there is no such thing as too much. I was referring to what is available and there is no such thing as a race fuel that would be bad for a stock ls1.

well if you have a stock ls1 and use prostock 118 to 120 leaded you will lose a good but of hp v/s say using 100 unleaded. the higher the octane the slower the burn and flash point.

Which is its so funny to see people with stock cars putting VP in trying to pick up time. I've seen it attempted several times.

The question you should ask is WHAT IS THE LOWEST AMOUNT OF OCTANE I CAN RUN WITHOUT KNOCK. IMO Race gas wil only slow you down if youe not tuned for it or have the higher compression for it. JMO
