Default FI 800+ RWHP... what fuel setup?

FI Guys... what are you doing for 800+ RWHP, those of you running more then 60lb Injectors... how are you doing it? What are you using to support the low imp Injectors?

What can 60lb Injectors get you at 80% duty cycle with a turbo? What about with a progressive Meth kit on top of it?

Which is better? Meth Kit + 60's...

Or spring for the converter and run 75's or 83's (It is close to the same cost as doing a meth kit). I am cost limited... so I am not talking Big Stuff 3 or anything High $$$$

What is the FI Budget high HP way to go?!?

You can get a versafueler and then pick out whatever injectors you want. Or you can go with the mototron 65# ers. Yes they make a 65# injector Or RC 75# ers. I just swapped from a weldon 600 a to a magnafuel 4303 and it holds fine with the numbers in my sig. I just ordered some mototron 65#'s to finish my tune.

John any reason why you went 10 8 6?
What are you running to control the 83's?

I am shooting for 800+RWHP... RC 75# ers? Are they High Res? I agree with the versafueler... ~same cost as the Meth kit... that is why I am asking for opinions on what would be better sit. 60-65's wouldnt do it... maybe with meth... but not alone.

I run BS3, it has low impedance injector drivers.

Don't need a big line for the return.

Yes the RC injectors are for your stock PCM

I havent used my versafueler or 96# injectors yet, but thats the route I went. My car already has methanol on it also. I would rather have more injector than not enough. I already ran out of injector once on the dyno during tuning and don't intend to do it again!

Hmmm ok so has anyone used the "RC" 75# injectors? How do they compare to low res injectors?

Nobody can quantify how much injector meth makes up for?

Seems to me that meth could make up for not using race gas, somewhere between 100 and 104 octane. Obviously that is a big generalization on my part.

Im using the stock pcm and the RC 75#ers. but they are high impedence, so it can be a little more tricky to tune from what Ive heard.

However I dont need a converter box and ive put down 933 at the wheel at about 89% DC I believe. Im not sure if the other stuff for my fuel setup has anything to do with it though (aeromotive eliminator pump, bigger lines(not sure what size) sumped tank, etc...)

Moderator: I started this in FI because it is unique to FI...

Hmmmm ok so the RC 75#'s are good for 900RWHP? Wow... well that is a damn good thing then (saves money on the injector controller). Anyone else have input on RC 75's vs: Low resistance 75's or 83's with the controller?

Ok I have already figured out that I am going to do a -8 or -10AN feed line and use the stock feedline as the return. I think I am simply going to add another walbro 255 to my setup making it a Dual intank setup.

What is the best / easiest to use boost ref FPR?

I do not think you will 80% on the 75#ers and I hear they are hard to tune. The benifit to the low imp. are they flow better and are simpler to tune.

use -8 line it will help keep the pressure up on those 2 pumps and will be good for 1000hp

No answer to the best but a very good unit we use are the Fuelab regulators.

Allan Futral had no problems tuning my RC 75's.

My car is as follows

BigStuff3
Twin A1000s
-10 Feed, -8 to rails, -8 to regulator, -6 return
96lb/hr injectors
Aeromotive rails, may switch to n8 rails though
Stock tank with external fittings

Dont take this the wrong way, its an oxymoron for budget and high HP.

One issue is fuel.. this issue you need to be 110% covered on. I run 75's on my car at 50% DC.

Next is octane.. the bigger the boost and higher the timing... that octane issue starts stepping into the equation. You get some KR at high power levels.. bad things will happen. On cars getting gas from unknown sources.. be very careful.

A properly setup meth system will take whatever octane requirement the motor needs. But dont use it to pad a poorly designed fuel system.. unless your 110% confident in what your doing.

I run 132 MPH in a 3850 lb car on a single walbro + meth on 93 octane. The FAST lets me know if I have sufficient fueling with its correction amount.

Nate... good to know. Is that benifit in the low impedance still realized when using something like a versafueler?

1000RWHP? or FWHP? I will be knocking on the door of that RWHP (Looks like 900 at the high side)

Julio, good info... I have been thinking that in the end I will add a meth kit to pad what I am doing. I would like to build a fuel system that can handle the HP withought Meth.... that way Meth can be a "Safety Net"... it can also help with the octane issue for knock.

If / when I do go meth... it will be one of your kits I am sure.

versafueler and 83lb injectors is the way I have decided to go!
