Default high/low impedance

What's the difference between high/low impedance injectors?

High impedance injectors use a limited amount of current that remains the same while they are opening. Low impedance injectors use a higher current to snap the injectors open, then a limited current to hold them open until they need to close. Generally high impedance injectors are limited in size more than low impedance because of the limited fuel needed at idle. Most factory ecu's can only drive high impedance injectors, making a special converter box necessary if you need low impedance injectors.

Default Mototron and Siemens

My understanding is that when the Mototron injectors first surfaced they were used by Mercury Marine in big off shore style setups. The injectors were built by Siemens for Mercury Marine. One reason they stood out so well was the fact that their flow characteristics and spray pattern were very stable at higher fuel pressures - (opinion). I have heard that a change has occurred with the marketing of the Mototron injectors resulting in different people handling the sales and of course, higher prices. (gossip)
