fueling and you can get away with more timing because of the higher octane

Depends on how much your already pushing your fuel system. Your fuel system needs to be able to handle more than with unleaded fuels. If your pump cant handle at least 15% more fuel, you will run lean, than BOOM!!!

You deffinitely need tuning, gasoline and ethonol compress differently, and have totally different Stoich AFR's

Just make sure you have big enough injectors and a pump setup that can handle the flow.

That and tuning should be enough, but the info is kinda sketchy on whether or not the ethonol will eat any part of our cars.

Take it fwiw, I have read thread upon thread of ppl in LSX equipped vehicles with no other changes than the ones listed above.

all i changed, in the tune was the stoich value, i already had a fuel pump and 42 lb# injectors. there are companies that sell conversion kits that you plug in in-line with the injectors and it adjusts the fueling, but if your fuel system is not up to it it wont run properly. as for the BOOM, part, mine ran at 14:1 AFR on my wide band, at 6500 rpm and 8.4#'s of boost, made 642 rwhp and there was not a hint of knock retard, and no Boom. this stuff is real safe when it comes to preignition or detonation. stoich is 9.8:1 and max power is at 8.5:1. 14:1 would blow a gas motor at those levels but didn't even flinch in mine. but the fuel system needs to be upgraded, i'll likely have a few more ponies in there when i get the new set-up

who is one of those companies? I have a female friend that has a Volvo turbo and she would be greatfull if she could use e85. I do not know anyone who could tune it, so she could use it otherwise.

I really dont see how the everyday drivers are soo interested in this transition, E85 is so more viable for the high performance high compression racer or even daily driver who just wants to have best HP at all times, this will not make your car a "green" car or make fueling cheaper for you.

Actually, I have also heard those rumors, thats all they are from what I have seen is rumor though. I have yet to hear or see any pics of any 80's or newer model fuel system getting corroded or eaten by ethanol, in fact its much cleaner than unleaded fuel, and will in fact clean out your dirty fuel system that has been run by unleaded for many years. It is recommended you change out your fuel filters out after shortly running ethanol from all of the mess unleaded fuel left. Show me a link where corrosion has happened due to ethanol??
Here is a few links of high HP cars running Ethanol, I dont think its corroding there fuel system. As Runn has said earlier in the thread, thousands have used it and none have had the problem of corrosion. Do you think this 900rwhp Mustang would run strictly E85 if it ate his fuel system, would you want to chance a build like that? Oh and by the way, Brazil last I checked was running 22% ethanol in ALL of there pumps, and lots of pumps in the US are offering 10% mix. There must be alot of corroded Cars out there
These guys are running a 1000rwhp mustang, nothing fancy about their fuel system except of course bigger injectors and pump.

I thought this chart and information looked familiar...sure enough, the above chart is from the testing of a member on NASIOC named hotrod.

If you credited him for his work, I apologize...but I didn't see any mention.

Wideband has to be calibrated to read lower numbers - some cannot be changed, others can...

You better check availability in our area - I checked it with the thought of doing this last year and have been keeping an eye on it since - not too many places to get E85...

when i had my car dynoed it was the same way nothing lower that 10:1 but when we ran the car the AFR showed up as it would have if it were running on gas, because the o2 sensor only reads in Stoich and the software converts it to AFR
