I am curious to know how to run 500Hp with 24lb injectors.

Wow, cut me a little slack!

I am working in Miami this week and have limited internet access.

The car that I mentioned above is a 1999 Camaro. It is currently being run as a 1998 with an LT1 which is a legal combination for Stock Eliminator. It weighs approx 3250 with the driver and 200 lbs of ballast.

Some of the IHRA/NHRA rules for Stock are...

The car has to weigh the minimum weight for the class and is weighed after every pass.
The fuel is checked after most passes to make sure that it is legal.
A 9" x 30" slick is the biggest that we can run.
We are allowed any corporate three speed automatic (TH350/200/400)
Any corporate rear (12 bolt, etc.)
The interior must appear stock. Including the front seats.
We are allowed to remove the street equipment.
The motor is limited to .070 over bore and .015+ stroke. Factory lift on the cam. Factory rockers, intake, throttle body, and stock unported heads. The heads are also restricted in that they have a minimum CC allowed. They must have factory size valve springs with no pressure limit. Factory size aftermarket valves. The motor is allowed to be blueprinted to the manufacturers published specs.
Aftermarket headers, computers, and injectors are allowed.

The last time we tested the car it ran 6.57 in the 1/8 @ 102 mph. The sixty foot was a 1.29!

How did we make it so fast with the those rules? Why don't you build one yourself and see what it takes smart guy.

Dont get so upset. I just want to know much HP your car makes, not how fast it goes. What is so hard about that?

We arent discussing your 1/4 or 1/8 mile times or class restrictions, we are discussing injector size vs HP.

BTW 1.29 60ft is badass!!!!

The last time it was on a dyno it put down 420 HP at the wheels. But as you know you can't race a dyno. I have found several things that work on a dyno don't work well at the track. That includes injectors. I tried 30 lb injectors. They added nothing on the dyno, but hurt track performance . I thought that maybe I had the wrong brand injectors, so I purchased another set. Same results.

FWIW, I also have a stack of heads, intakes, motors, transmissions, converters...........

I'm not upset. A smart guy like yourself should have been able to approximate HP from the numbers that I posted.

Take Care,

Daren

If you lost out with the 30's, you need to re-evaluate your tuner and/or the methods used for such.

...badass setup though.

Folks, I think this thread has run its course. I had asked the question of getting 500 rwhp from 24# injectors. It was an honest, straightforward question generated from another thread.
We now know that the car in question is a IHRA Stock Eliminator. Right away, we are comparing apples to oranges. We are running street cars, most with power steering, air conditioning, etc. We also know that the hp quoted was calculated from performance on the strip, not on the dyno as we calculate hp.
With all due respect to all involved, including professional racer GIZMO, I ask that we drop this subject and get back to the purpose of increasing the performance of our street cars.

1. I dont claim to be smart, have you seen me do that? 500Hp on 24's is not the norm so all i did was ask how you did it.
2. There are plenty of variables that will affect HP VS ET, such as that great 60ft you have, so guesiing HP would have been dumb. It was much easier for you to just tell us.
