Default fuel pump inop

My buddy was driving his 99nbm (https://ls1tech.com/forums/vehicles-sale-lsx-powered-only/601340-1999-z28-370ci-th400-tea-heads-transbrake.html) and he hit a few bumps in the road, they weren't bad but they were successive bumps (in a row, about three) and the suspension is pretty stiff, so it jarred the car fairly bad, but nothing that out of the ordinary, and then about 5 seconds later the car revved a few times and died. It will crank over fine but not start now, and I noticed normally when you turned the key to accessory position before you start it, you can hear the fuel pump pressurizing the system, now, I don't hear anything. My first guess is the fuel pump is out, but before we get another pump and try to replace it I was wondering maybe if there are some wires or fuses that I should check?

Thanks,
Eric

Sometimes by using a rubber mallet somewhere on the fuel tank while trying to crank it will get the pump to start again. We use to do this to diagnose bad fuel pumps in the past it worked fairly well.

Well you can turn the key on and push the valve in on the fuel rail and fuel should shoot out if the pump is working. Have you checked all the fuses and relays?
