Walbro 255 Pump Problem
The 1st time it happen, I had checked all of the electrical wire, ground, fuse and relay, I jumped the relay terms from power in/out to give the pump straight 12 and I didn't hear it working and still no pressure, I was bout to give up and call a tow trunk, (was at the last Pleasanton Good Guys, boy would that have been a good showing, being towed out !)
I had thought I was stuck and would need pull the tank and pump. But someone told me to bang on the tank to vibrate the tank and pump and sometimes will start... and sure enough it did. I have since rechecked the wiring and all.
The Tank is a 95 Impala tank with a Racetronix Walbro 255 pump in my LS1 converted Chevelle. I have a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail and using a 99' Vette Filter/regulator.
I am not sure if the pump is failing or there is something else wrong... It seem that the pump is freezing up and that by turning on the power and getting the pump to vibrate it will unfreeze and start working again..
Anyone ? Options ? suggestions ?
