Fuel line questions for new Walbro 340
I have a 98 SS, fyi.
First: On the Walbro, the hose they included was too short, so I went and bought some fuel hose from autozone. It was not as strong as the hose they sent, but the length was right, so I used it. (talking about on the pump itself inside the tank) It was not high pressure fuel injection hose, just regular ole fuel hose. Is it okay or should I pull the pump out and swap it for the high pressure stuff?
Second: When hoisting the tank back into the car, I realized that both of my fuel lines were badly kinked. Should I try to rig it up so that they don't kink more (and assume no damage was done), go to Autozone and buy high pressure fuel injection flexible hose and some hose clamps to replace the damaged stock hoses, or should I go to the dealer and get new replacement ones?
Whatever will give me the best results is what I'll do with both situations. I am not on a time limit so whatever is best... Matt

You need to replace the regular fuel line with high pressure fuel line.
As far as the kinked lines go I do not see any reason why you could not replace them with the high pressure fuel line. Just be sure that you protect them from being chaffed on the edge of the fuel tank or other sharp edges. You probably should use 2 clamps on each end to secure the line.

just to let you know....NHRA doesn't accept anymore than 2 feet of non-stock rubber line unless it is like aeroquip/russell pushlock hose
you'd probably wouldn't get caught for it but it is a rule

I have rigged up some rubber hose around the kinked hose which should keep it from kinking again. I am going to give the stock hose a try... thanks for the replies, guys, and I will keep you updated.

They kinked up where they make that 180* turn by the front-drivers side of the gas tank. Freaking I just put the tank back up and I can see a medium sized kink there! I think I may just fire it up and see how it goes. What PSI should I expect from this Walbro 340?

I see about 58psi at idle but it will vary between ~56 and 62psi depending on your stock regulator.
With the kinked line mine would drop to 50psi at WOT.
My line is kinked in the same location.
