Default hard start after walbro....

ok goana try and make this quick...had trouble keeping over 30 psi fuel pressure in my car..95 z...changed filter, regulator, made sure no leaky injectors, then sprung for a new racetronix kit...got it installed it and right away 55 psi at prime and 48 or so when it started...car drives like a champ ect much more power......but now it hard starts bad...i hooked up a gauge and you can prime the pump and it shoots for 55 psi, once the pumps done priming it drops to 5 psi within 3 seconds...its not a leaking fuel line and its not a leaky injector i checked....so it has to be leaking on the feed line inside the tank right?

i posted on another site and was told by some1 that

""There's a check valve in the pump that holds the fuel pressure in the supply line. May have failed already. Or you may have a loose hose at the pump.""

im going to check tomaro about the hose but i think if the hose was loose it would have blown off the line already....

i bought this brand new unopened from another member off here...he got it from thunder...who can i call?

This happens alot. dont get pissed but there is probally a hose clamp loose. You will probally say " no way everything is tight and looks good". But I am telling you alot of folks have some issues with the walbro and 9 out 10 times its a losse wire or hose clamp.

My car has a walbro with out the check valve. starts fine. no differnt than factory.

hmmmmmm. I know.

When your car sits over night will it fire right up? but if drove to a store and did some shopping, came out and it cranks for a long time to start. It this is happening it is your fuel pressure regulator. they are less than $100.

In most cases this is because the fuel tube is not sealing properly. Usually this happens because:
- the gear clamp is over tightened
and/or
- the plastic ribbed outlet has been scored deeply when removing the factory fuel tube

It is possible for the regulator or a leaky injector to cause this problem as well. Your GM factory manual has a step by step diagnostic procedure to help isolate this type of problem.
