Ran out of gas? Screwed?

My friend has a 98z28 his wife ran out of gas. Now it wont start. Cranks but nothing....Pumped burned up? It has 70k on it. Thanks

Did you fill it back up with gas??? j/k Maybe when you filled it back up you stirred up all the crap on the bottom of the tank and now its clogged your fuel filter?

Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you just turn the key on? I'd put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if it's about 58 psi.

I have a 98 t/a with 63k ran out of fuel last month, put 5 gallons no start. Changed fuel pump to walbro 255, car runs great. I cut the acess panel and put the new pump in and it took a total 4 hours.
Your be happier in the end as with the new pump I pickesd up a couple hunderths in the 1/4. probally cause the pump was weak and now has awesome fuel pressure.

Yeah I cant hear the fuel pump at all. Even after let it sit. Guess it's fuel pump for him. Doesn't the cutting access panel hack up the car? I think I will tell him to drop the tank. Thanks all

It will completely hack up the car and you will have to seal it up or make a larger patch panel and seal it up. No one can see it but still. It looks brutal.
