Default My double-pumper setup! (Dual intank - Twin intank - Walbro 255's)

Not too many pics/info on 1998 stuff out there, so here's mine. Stock pump wasn't cuttin' it, so I upgraded to a Walbro 255. Car will have nitrous later on, so I went ahead and plummed/wired it for a double pumper setup. 408 + small shot = 650-700rwhp?

The stock feed line is 3/8", but it necks down to 5/16" where the stock line from the pump attaches. I chopped that section and added the compression fitting. Make SURE you tighten the hell out of the compression fitting AND test to make sure it's not leaking before bolting the unit back into the tank. Mine was leaking pretty bad when tested and I was able to pull it out a bit and tighten it.

Here's the list:

(1) 3/8" compression X 1/4" NPT female
(2) 3/8" barb X 1/4" NPT male
(2) 5/16" barb X 1/4" NPT male
(1) 1/4" NPT Tee
(bunch of) hose clamps

The pumps discharge into 5/16" hose, and the Tee discharges into 3/8" hose. The wiring is 14 gauge, and I used JB Kwik Weld to seal up the holes. I chose to run all the wires out of the tank to avoid the section of tiny wire on the stock harness inside the tank, wasn't a big deal considering I was going to be running wires around anyway. I hadn't run the main pump's wires out through the top in some of the pics, but did later on. I used a new female quick connect and wired the ground on the sending unit into the black wire I ran out of the tank. The second pump will come on via relay when I arm the Nitrous.

I had to chop the bottom of the stock sender bracket to get things to sit right. I also removed the float, and reinstalled it once the unit was about 1/2 way in as to not damage it. It took a little twist-n-shout to get it back in the tank correctly, but it finally went. I was sure that I had jacked up the fuel level sensor somehow, but it works perfect.

PS - I ripped the seal on the fuel tank pressure sensor and the stealership wanted me to buy a whole new sending unit lol. I just put a bolt in the hole (see pics) and RTV'd it in place. I have long since had the codes for FTPS and EVAP deleted anyway. And about cutting the hole in the car, you should see the work I did on the tranny tunnel to get the 5" OD bullet in my 4" intermediate pipe to fit.
