Your OEM PCM has injector outputs that are matched to what is known as high-impedence or High Z injectors. As they become physically larger, their internals do as well, and they need more power to cycle. Low impedence injectors fills this void. Your stock PCM cannot supply the current for them without a driver box. As of right now, these are about as big as you can get staying high-Z.

metripack is the line of connectors made by packard that our cars use for most of the connections, (both sealed and unsealed metripack 150, and 280 series)

I will be getting a set of these soon also, I hope they can handle high hp. I'm looking to be pushing at least 800 through them.

Well I finally got everything going. Here is a log of the 79# injectors, it's in EFILive. The afr will be off since i am using E-85 and have a custom Pid for my LM1. They are running real lean, not sure why, but it leaves the idle a bit choppy.

Damn. I'm sure everyone was waiting to see results in a gasoline application. With the richer stochiometric ratio for E85, it would require a huge (or really shitty) injector to cause any tuning problems. I guess every little bit of info helps.

If you take into acount the altitude i'm at it almost evens out. 30% more fuel for E-85, my baro= 83 kpa sea level 103 20% less fuel needed.

It just dawned on me, part of the problem may be my intake, it got so cold here that some of the areas where the bolts go through cracked. I wont know until I get a stock throttle body and put on the stock intake.

It would seem that they are not as efficient as the 42's I had. I had to add 25% then another 25% to the voltage adjust table at idle. And lots of adjustment all over the table. Now I just need to get the idle under control, it's way to high. And acording to my math, with the altitude adjustment then the E-85 increase, I am using only 4% more fuel then someone at sea level.

I'm very interested in what you are doing. I want to try running e85 some day. I just don't want to give up the driveability I have now with the mototron 60's. I am already maxing them out on my racegas tune.

Keep posting your results! Are you going to up the boost & see what you can get out of these injectors?

I will be in your area this summer with my car.

Yes I will be upping the boost, but I'm still running the stock short block and rear end. So i wont be pushing it too much harder yet. At this point I just want to see how much HP I will make now that I have the fuel system in. It was maxed out last time I dynoed it, running 14:1 at wot, should have been 8.4:1. I do have a new forged short block in the garage but it has been in storage for a while and got some dirt on it, so it will need to be torn down and cleaned.
