really rich?

Default really rich?

I had the car dyno'd and the a/f ratio was 12-11.5 all the way through the rpm range. I can really smell it and its driving me nuts! Guess the question is how many mpg is this costing me, at 3.25 a gallon its getting expensive. Im getting 215-225 per tank on mixed driving and I have long tubes, lid, ls6 intake, tb bypass and a shitmaster 80 series. Had the car "tuned" but sounds like he messed more up than did any good. 98 a4 with 82k fresh tune up. oh, only dynod 305/325. any help would be appreciated

yes...lol that is really rich for NA car.

umm take the care back for a retune since it wasnt done right

Cant, there no longer around. I thought so but tried searching with no real clue how bad it was. Thanks gonna have some one look at it

It's not costing you anything unless you drive around all day at WOT. The dyno test is at WOT. You drive around at part throttle where the computer tries to maintain a 14.7:1 ratio.

I really didnt think of that, I was really hoping that would be the solution to the **** poor fuel milage and low dyno #'s

well it does contribute to lower power numbers at wot. You want to be 12.5 to 13:1 depending on combination for your AF ratio. you could pick up about 20 HP probably give or take.

Well that explains the low dyno numbers with the mods I do have, but I really think its rich in normal driving as well. I was scanning with a tech 2 and all of the ltft were off but I cant remember if it was adding or pulling so im going to do swome more investigating tonight. Thanks for the help

I was running rich for a couple months. I smelled gas at idle and everything. The SES light even showed up to tell me I was rich.

So I did a Seafoam and the light INSTANTLY went away. Then I mess with the VE table, and now I'm good to go.

I dont have the option to go into the programing, I have LT1 edit but nothing for LS1. and still dont realy know what to do with the fuel and bs. I am little leary about seafoam cause I have a couple of buddies that did theirs and it devoloped a rod knock within a month, but I doubt it was from the seafoam just in the back of my mind that it was.

I've done it several times to 2 different cars. And if you don't believe me, look in the general maintenance section and all the satisfied users. Must be hundreds of "Seafoam saved my life" threads.

Needless to say, I'm a true believer.

thats pretty bad mileage, i get that out mine on E-85
