Default car hard to start

ok i have had some real good help from some people on ftv6 about my car having starting problems.i just put a fuel pump in like 3 weeks with new filters and this started last week i turned my car off and went into ace for about ten min and then came out and tried to start it and it took a couple of sec to fire up and it has been getting worse over the 4-5 days or so.i had the fuel pump checked and it is getting good pressure but if i turn the car off and let it set for a while like 10-15 min and try to start it it wont start for like 5-6 sec but after i got it started and turn it off then re start it she fires right up.and when i turn it off and let it set for a while and i go and push the shredar vale down all i can hear is air comming out then gas barley trickles out what you guys think just trying to get a nother opinion.

I have the exact same problem on a 95 LT1. If you discover your problem please post it. Ive had it at the GM dealer twice they have replaced the Opti, plugs,a couple fuel injectors. Ive also checked the fuel pressure myself and it seems well within spec other then the leakdown im not sure about. Waiting on a response from a guy in the LT1 tech forum. As the fuel pressure drops rather quickly after turning the key off. Im not sure if this is normal or part of problem waiting for a response.

I kinded suspected FPR but mine was replaced at the GM dealership also i check again tonight and there is no evidence its leaking into in the vaccuum hose even the old one there was no evidence but i had them replace anyway on the second trip to the GM garage.

No the dealership has replaced a ton of parts at first saying it was a bad fuel injector, while it was there I had them replace the spark plugs. I picked up the car and found the cranking problem was still there, so i took it back and they said it had weak spark and diagnosed as the optispark, so they replaced the optiospark. I asked to them to replace the FPR even though they said the fuel pressure was fine. Altogether with parts and labor was about $4500.00, only saving grace is most of it was covered under warranty and it probably need the injectors and opti anyway as it had around 70,000 miles on it. Im still very frustrated though as they cant seem to fix it. Ive started tinkering with it myself
I used to do alot of my own work but now that im older I normally just take them to a shop and let them do it especially since both my current vehicles are under warranty. Last few days ive pulled out some of my tools and been trying to at least diagnoise the problem ( fuel pressure gauge). On weds GM dealership has agreed to take the car back and try and diagnose it again for free and cut me a wikkid deal on any more repairs needed. I just dont have any faith in them at this point would like to try and get it fixed so they dont have it for another week and it come back still not working.

nope she is a 2002 v6 camaro kid **** lol.. have you ever had to change your fuel pump.when you turn your key on can you hear your fuel pump kick on for a couple of seconds if not your relay might be bad cause i have heard that the oil pressure sensor turns it on automatically when its under pressure might wanna check that relay.

Yea I believe the oil pressure will turn the fuel pump on as a backup incase the relay goes bad, thats how it was on older gm cars, My car defianatly kicks the pump on as soon i turn the key I can hear it. I honestly believe its the fuel pump return valve or another leaking injector on my car. Which if its the fuel pump will be another 1000.00 dollars give or take but at least its also covered under warranty. When i bought this car I decided I wouldnt have another LT1 without a warranty as i put alot of cash into my others before they were reliable. Ive owned 3 and all of them needed waterpumps and optisparks which isnt cheap. Im in western Canada and 4th gens are fairly rare and hold there value quite well. I paid 9000.00 for this one, with a full load, leather 55k 6speed which is a steal for them around here. 2002s with this mileage go for between 20-35k and 95s with double the mileage sell for 10+. The Gm optispark from the dealer here is just shy of $800.00 and add $110.00 an hour labor and it doesnt take long to a get nice healthy bill.

wait never mind i think i have fixed it dmd95z i was out there messing with the car and took the fuel pump out ofit and checking it out and i notice that the main fuel line on it was a little loose and look like gas could leak out and air to get in so i tookit all apart and wiped it all off got a lighter and heated the line up were the nozzle part is and maid the line more tighter to the nozzle and i put everything back together went to my car and she fired right up like no problem so you might wanna check your lines in the fuel tank.
