Changing injectors to low IMP, need some help ok i am going from some simiens 60'g HIGH impedance to some simiens 83 low impedance injectors. Now the Injector manufacture said if i am not going to change them in and out i could get away with just putting in a resistor in line with the power wire on each injector. He says they do it all the time. This way i dont have to use the piggy back box, and would be easier to install. Well i have done most everything with a car but i have never ran across this so my question is, has anyone heard of this, and which wire is the right one to tie into on each injector, and what size resistor would i put inline with the 2.5 ohm injector?

well the problem with running a resistor is that #1 your injector's will open slower, so your max usable Duty % number will go down, and you wont be able to get a decent idle because you can get control of the injector at low PW, but with ones that big i doubt you could get a good idle anyway. secondly, the 10 or 12 ohm resistor you put inline with each injector will have to be able to dissipate a lot of power (ie a 10 watt resistor) and each one will get pretty darn hot so you have to think about where you are going to mount 8 of the suckers. i guess a good resistance value would be what ever totals up with the new injectors to equal the stock injector resistance. so if stock was 16 you need about 13.5 ohms plus your new injectors.
i should preface this with i know lots about ECU design, but little about the GM one you are talking about so i have no idea if this would work, and i believe if it did, it would be way suboptimal. Not sure who sells "conversion" box's anymore, sorry.
