98+ stock rails, use test port as return?

98+ stock rails, use test port as return?
on my truck i was considering this. does anyone have a success story to tell?
take the schrader valve out and hook up w/ -4 an(correct?) run that over to my regulator then out of the regulator to the tank via return line.
i know this port is good enough to power wet nitrous systems.. is it big enough to regulate fuel at idle? how big of an impact does having it on one leg effect what happens in the rails under heavy drain? what to do about the pulse damper?
I was about to pull the trigger on a set of 97 vette rails but then i decided that i dont know how to 'remove' their regulator and run my own down the return line.
anyways hope you understand the idea.

97 Vette regulator is 1:1 so it would work well if you can stand 58psi base pressure.
Some company on the vette forum made an adapter that replaces the dampner in the factory non return rail that created a return line tap.

It's a corvette set-up so to keep the dual vette tank siphon working, the second line goes directly to the stocl vette feed line. The main line goes to a 044 Bosch that is boost referenced.
That type system will support big power with the two pumps working...probably close to 1000rwhp.

Hey David, I ran the return from there on a D1 car that made in the mid-low 600s powered by a Bosch 044 (or 0420, I forget) with the intention of the owner redoing things later on, but there was never any need to, it worked well. Definitely better than I expected. The rest of the setup was 60s and alkycontrol meth and a base pressure of about 52psi.

here is something interesting.
i got another regulator (kirban 5071) for my truck, and i had a look at its exit orifice, and its .175 ID. even with that tiny *** hole i can regulate two walbros on all the time on my car.
-4 hose and fittings are .250
and i even had a schrader valve in my misc parts droor in my room, the OD of that is .200
so the -4 fitting and the valve port are both LARGER than the orifice in my regulator... HAH and i was worried... moving on..

so are you saying to run a line from the test port to a regulator the from the regulator to the tank? i have a turbocharged tahoe i'm thinking of going return style on. tuning these 60# injectors are a pain with 60psi at idle.
