Default HELP! Fuel Guru Needed!!

OK, I'm going to try to explain my set up as close as I can. 2001 Ws6 w/ls1. I installed a 255 Walbro fuel pump. I also installed an Aeromotive fuel regulator along with Aeromotive 5/8 fuel rails. I mounted the regulator on the drivers side fender just above the oem fuel delivery line. So I have fuel delivery in one side port and fuel out of the other side port to the driver side fuel rail. I have about 60 lbs. pressure. Now for my question. Where do I connect the return port that is on the bottom of the regulator? It won't regulate the pressure as long as the excess fuel can't flow back to the tank, Right! I've looked at the fuel pump and there are three lines going to it. One is marked with an "F" I assume this is the fuel delivery line. Correct me if I am wrong! The middle line I am assuming is the EVAP line. and the third line which is marked with a "R" I am assuming is the return line I am lookig for. I can't figure out where it travels from the pump. I have the cut out above the pump and did not drop the tank. Does this line travel all the way to the engine compartment and if so where?

HVAC? You mean EVAP? Yes, you need a return line... you could use the EVAP line as a return, if you aren't planning on keeping it.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Is there a returnline that already exist? If not, where does the line at the fuel pump that is labeled with "R" on the pump housing go to ? Is this the one I need to return to?

No, these cars come stock with a demand-type fuel system. No return line exists from the front of the car. The only lines going the length of your car are the fuel evap, fuel feed, and rear brake. I have no idea what the "R" is.

OK, thanks for the good info. Now one more question. If I run a return line to the tank, which connector do I plug into to get it back into the tank?

At the back of the vehicle on the driver side in front of the rear tire is a tee. That line coming off perpedicular is your return line.

What I did was remove the return line & plug the hole. Then installed a new feed line at the tank then used the factory feed line as the return.

Another way would be to use the evap line as a return. Just plug it into the return line fitting on the tank. Hope I'm not confusing you.

First off you need to run the feed line into the rails make a crossover to the other rail and out goes into the side of your regulator. The bottom of your regulator goes back to the tank. You will also need to remove the factory regulator in the tank on the pump assembly. The R is a return but it only goes as far as the fuel filter. There is a "T" there as well you will need to plug the "T" fitting off and run the return from the front of the car to there...almost easier to run a complete new return line.

Why can't the regulator be mounted before the rails? Will it not allow enough fuel flow? My passenger side fuel rail feeds my nitrous fuel solenoid.

In theory it's possible, you're the second joker here trying it in as almost as many days, it would seem. I certainly wouldn't recommend it for a higher output application, that isn't the design or the intention for the regulator.
