E85 cause engine damage??
It is pretty much a no brainer, and no its does not need to be done in a lab environment. You should look into these kits. Try an OTC p/n 7670, been around for years. Any good driveability tech takes fuel samples when he encounters a tip-in, hesistation problem or LEAN fuel trim codes (P0171, P0174) and now more than ever today due to E85 fuel possibly being in the tank when it is not supposed to.
I can't believe any dealer tech wouldn't be aware of how to use these kits.
No the 5.0L V8, it IS different than the other 5.0L of yesteryear. All of the later Ford motors are strange.
It sounds like the guy is backpeddling now. Lack of maintience=big money. He is trying to find an easy way out.
