Default Quick Connects on stock Fuel supply

Can I use the stock quick connects under the hood on the supply line....just to switch to braided line?

I know they make female an quick disconnect fittings...not sure about male ones though. I have braided line from the tank up with the quick disconnect an fittings on the sending unit and fuel filter.

What are you trying to do? Just save money? Or do you have another reason?

Russel and Aeromotive at the very least make the proper fittings (SAE J-2044 spec) that are designed to be used with stainless braided lines. They aren't cheap, but it is the proper way to do it.

Yea....was just trying to save some cash... but I am going to order the fittings since it seems the fittings up front are not re-usable like the ones in the back

One area where I wouldnt try to skimp is the fuel lines. My brother tried to save some money by modifying his fuel line system as he didnt want to spend the extra cash on the correct fittings. Well on the first trial run down the block, My brother made it .4 of a mile and the car stalled. As he started to crank the engine to restart, he then noticed smoke and realized he had a fire. 1500 dollars later he bought the correct fittings.

Ditto, being in a car with a fuel line leak, we were VERY lucky it didn't catch fire, raw fuel was pouring on the header, so bas I could see the fuel gauge dropping sitting in teh back of the car.

Once we popped the hood, we had lost 8+ gallons of gas, and thank god the car didn't catch fire.
