EVAP black plastic solenoid between intake/fuel line broke

Not sure what to do now. I hear where people are deleting this thing and bypassing it with a steel braided line. Where the fuel line connect goes into this EVAP fuel purge valve is where it broke. I think I will have to replace both the fuel line connect & the black evap valve. hmmmm... any suggestions???

I think it would be wiser to fix properly. Is the EVAP unit checking for gas vapors? Part of the EECS right? I had mine go bad near top of fuel tank. Someone had installed a trap door and did not remove sharp edges of steel. Just folded them back in and it cut into the line. Used some silicone(fuel safe) and e-tape and fuel line to repair.
