Is 62psi to high?
Is 62psi to high? Just swaped out my walbro yesterday and the car seems to be running a little better. My fuel press is now at 62psi, where it was at 58-59. On a WOT run it will go to 56psi or so. I dont have a the hotwire kit but have been thinking a lot about it and may do it, I want this pump to last...I dont know if I had some Chinese POS pump or maybe I fucked it up in the 8k or so miles I put on it from getting it hot or something but I believe I have a REAL one now, think it says gs340 or something like that and I read those are the real ones. The one I had in before had nothing like that, just a bunch of random numbers.
let hope it does...one thing that I swear my other pump didnt is when I prime the pump the press will shoot to 60 then fall to 40 right away then just creep down to 25 and hang...wouldnt it hold the press at 60? Seems weird to me. I took the car out on a 25 mile drive and the press held fine so I hope everything is ok.

An f-body should hold pressure for a while. If it drops to 0 in a minute or 2 you probably have a hose leak in the tank.
A C5 will drop pressure quickly due to the fuel transfer to the pass side venturi pump.

Verdad Gallardo Yeah I gyess I have leak somewhere...its gota be the hose from the pump to the sending unit. I dont understand how it could be leaking though, kind of freaks me out casue if its leaking its prob gonna blow off. I need to pull the pump out again...just been so damn busy. Keep hearing this and that about the hose were supsose to run in the tanks...why the hell do we even get hose with the pump kit if its no damn good.
Right now if I prime the car it will shoot to 60ish (+ - 2) and then make its way down to 20 with in 15 seconds or so. I made sure I didnt over tighten the rubber hose or have it to loose...guess I messed up somewhere. Will check and update.

^ huh...never thought of that. What kind will you use since it will be in the tank? I get perfect pressure when Im driving so I guess Im ok. Still gonna pull the pump to see if something is up with the line.
As long as the prime function works, and fp goes to desired pressure, what diff does it make if it drops in 3 min, 5 min, or 5 hrs??
As for the addition of a check valve.. it best be able to flow what the pump is capable of, or you've just introduced a restriction....
