Default testing injectors?

is there anyway to test an injector without it being hooked up to the motor? i have a feeling my injectors are bleeding down and cashing a hard start. i was going to tear down my setup to figure this out.

thanks

take them off, and get an air tank with a regulator (so you don't blow 80psi to your injectors) and turn it up to around 5-10psi and use a 12v battery and use two alligator clips to do positive and negative on the injector.

something similar to that. you will here them hiss, don't know how much of a test that is though. 2 of mine didn't hiss, we turned the pressure up and tried again and BOOM, damn injector took off, LOL. smacked the ground and it has been working fine since but just be careful.

if you want to get them flow matched and re-built, send them off to RCeng.com

First you can try to ohm test them

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_g8PdrT0MCU

We offer our 11 step rebuilding process on them for $15 each

thats very low, anything under 12 is pretty much shot, but since they are all within .5 of each other they just seem like theyre all tired and could use some attention or replacement

Best way to test for a leakdown is to put a gauge on the fuel rail, turn the key on and let the fuel pump prime, turn the key off and see if pressure drops

a stuck injector for sure

If a coil is going that bad, or more than 1, replacement would be the best option imo.

The dodge could use some new ones for sure, and the Ranger looks just fine.

But I didn't know you had Dekka's in there haha. 12 is an okay spec on a Dekka.

If you're still having a problem, we flowtest and clean injectors for $80. It comes with a flowsheet so you can see exactly what your injectors flow before and after.

80 is for all 8, its $10 per injector. plus $8 shipping. Once we get the injectors we usually get them done within a day or two and send them back out.
