Default 3.23's

Hey guys,

I have a 10 bolt with 2.73's. Not looking at upgrading to anything like a 12 bolt or 9", but I would like to do away with the 2.73's. I found someone on tech that has a 10 bolt with 3.23's thats a 4 channel like mine that I could get for about $250. Is this worth it?

This car does not see the track so its just for street. Will I see a difference or should I wait around until I can put some 3.42's in?

Thanks!

You'll notice a little difference, but I would go with 3.42's if you drive a lot on the highway, if not go with the 3.73's. Your rearend is a 2 series rear. $250 sounds like a good deal if the rear is in good shape, and needs nothing.

New Gearset and Rebuild kit only run you about $300.00 for the complete package. In my opinion used is never the way to go unless you know thefull history of the rearend and not just what the guy is telling you. Plus the fact you get a rearend that has new parts instead of old used parts gives you a better chance of not wasting your money on an old worn out rearend.

Sweet, thanks for the help, this sounds like a much better option. I am wary of buying used because you never know how someone treated their stuff.

Also, be aware of the different brands of gears. We sell the cheap gears just as good as anyone. If cheap is what you want let me know. Not the best decesion though IMO.

Motive Gear(bluebox) is a basic gear, Motive Performance is a double lapped gear and is easier to setup with better patterns during setup. Yes there is a2 series and 3 series Performance Gear depending on what ratio you currently have.

Cheap is not what I want. I definitely don't need to have a job done twice. I was looking on summit and saw that they had richmond gears at a good price, but I hear they whine and I don't want something like that. I have 2.73's with the 2 series carrier.

Richmond will be noisy in the majority of all gear changes, With a 2.73 you will need the thick ring gear.
